Eva Jinek thinks the harsh criticism that Tina Nijkamp recently leveled at her at the table at Today Inside is unjustified. “I fell off my chair, so to speak,” says NPO’s talk show diva.

The attitude of Eva Jinek in her talk show of the same name on NPO 1 is sometimes insufferable, says Tina Nijkamp. According to the TV authority, she is sometimes very hard on her guests, such as for NSC face Nicolien van Vroonhoven. The party founded by Pieter Omtzigt has completely disintegrated, causing political chaos.

‘You must be destroyed!’

According to Tina, Eva sometimes really goes too far. “She also had that with Nicolien van Vroonhoven. He was already struggling on the floor, like: ho ho ho, I failed, and then she sat there with Eva and she went all the way. I think she gets a kind of blur in her eyes, like: you have to be destroyed, you have to be destroyed,” she said this week in Today Inside.

Nonsense, says Angela de Jong. She previously praised Eva for the way she handled Nicolien. “What would she have thought? A bouquet of flowers and a hug from Eva? A video message from Pieter Omtzigt who, while holding back tears, thanked her for everything she had done for him and his party?”

Eva falls from chair

What does Eva think of Tina’s criticism? She responds in it A.Dwhere the TV authority is not mentioned: “I think it is good that people think something of my work. But we are making an opinion program, not NOS News.”

“Then I ask: would you join NSC in a coalition with the PVV, with the knowledge of today, Mrs Van Vroonhoven? If the answer is ‘yes’, then I will, so to speak, fall out of my chair. The viewer at home also has that.”

Instrument

You can’t just play the good hostess every night, Eva thinks. “I am the viewer and I am also an instrument to get someone somewhere.”

She continues: “Sometimes with love, other times by not saying anything, or going harder. Maybe unsympathetic or too hard, but I don’t always have to be liked. I’m here doing my job.”

Robotic

There was also criticism of her interview with SGP leader Chris Stoffer, who came to the table to protest against abortions. “Chris Stoffer knew what he came for. The campaign and this subject, but he kept repeating the same phrase over and over again. Almost robotically.”

She concludes: “I’m not looking forward to that. Then there is annoyance, because the viewer at home also has to think: what are you saying, man?”
