The 2026 season of the Teatro Colón is shaping up to be one of the most audacious and complete in recent yearsconsolidating the first Argentine coliseum not only as the epicenter of lyric and dance but also as a platform for contemporary creation and symphonic excellence. The official programming reveals a range of proposals that integrate opera, ballet, concerts, chamber music, world premieres and immersive experiences, with a strong national and international imprint that reaffirms the artistic vitality of the Buenos Aires institution.

The Ballet Estable, under the direction of Julio Bocca, will present eight titles throughout the yearbalancing iconic revivals, Argentine premieres and unprecedented world creation. In this choreographic map, Marianela Núñez stands as a leading figure, as he will open the season with “Swan Lake” in March and will close it with “The Nutcracker” in Decemberreaffirming its status as the main exponent of classical ballet in our country. Among the proposals, the Argentine premiere of “Alice in Wonderland” and the play “Borgescommissioned by choreographer Goyo Montero with music by Gustavo Santaolalla and Owen Belton, expanding the dialogue between dance and contemporary musical creation.

In the operatic field, the season will be made up of seven subscription titles and three chamber opera productions, combining classic repertoire with innovative bets. The return of the Wagnerian drama to the main stage will take place with “Die Walküre”while French poetry will be represented by “The Tales of Hoffmann” at the emblematic sunset Eugenio Zanettireissuing the success of 2019. In the symphonic field, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra It will celebrate its eighty years with a subscription cycle of 19 concerts and eight extraordinary performances, bringing together internationally renowned soloists and conductors. The Stable Orchestra of the Teatro Colón, with Alejo Perez As chief conductor, he will contribute his virtuosity both in symphonic shows and in the opera and ballet seasons, while the Academic Orchestra of the Higher Institute of Art will consolidate its formative role with a cycle of eight concerts between March and December. The proposals for family audiences, the Golden Hall cycle and choral and chamber productions complete a cultural mosaic that articulates tradition, innovation and aesthetic diversity.
