The new edition of the marathon was presented with UniCredit still Title sponsor of the relay. The Charity Program expands with 141 third sector organizations involved and new ways of donating for individual runners. PlayMore! is the “Charity of the Year”
It is a Milan Marathon that is growing and increasingly supportive. The event on 12 April 2026 organized by RCS Sports & Events for the third year in a row will see UniCredit support the Wizz Air Milano Marathon as Title sponsor of the relay, on the 42.195 km of the official route divided into 4 stages, now in its 14th edition. A partnership that has so far helped to make the Milan Marathon bigger and more engaging. And it won’t be the usual big sports celebration.

It will once again be an event to concretely help third sector bodies which this year have gone from 103 in 2025 to 141 in this review. This is the concrete meaning of the Charity Program 2026, the largest fundraising program in Italy linked to a sporting event. With the aim of making it increasingly inclusive, from next year it will also be possible to contribute through the registration of individual runners and no longer just by running the Relay Marathon. All the registered charities operate in numerous areas: from healthcare (Lega del Filo d’Oro, Lega Italiana Cistica Fibrosi Lombardia, Make-A-Wish Italia Onlus, C’è Da Fare) to social inclusion (PlayMore! with the RunChallenge project, Objective3, Laureus Sport for Good, Special Olympics Italia), from international cooperation (Paolo Chiesi Foundation) to scientific research (AIRC and Telethon, for to name a few), from sport (Sport Without Borders) to culture (Wikimedia Italia, Stefano D’Orto cultural association), from education and training (SIT – Sport Inclusion Talent and Bocconi University) to animal protection (ENPA, Una Zampa per la Spagna). Without forgetting those who deal with delicate issues such as nutritional disorders, one of the increasingly widespread problems among young people (Fra Me&Te).

Among all the institutions, PlayMore! (a non-profit organization founded in 2010 in Milan) was this year selected as Charity of the Year 2026 for the RunChallenge project: it is a running (and walking) training program designed not only for amateurs but for people with intellectual, sensory and physical disabilities; for those who come from migratory paths or for those who have families in financial difficulty behind them. In Milan its headquarters are in via della Moscova where PlayMore! manages a sports center owned by the Municipality of Milan where 300 unaccompanied foreign or migrant minors, some of whom come from war zones, were able to practice sports.

The aim is obviously to beat all records, also because so far we have seen that solidarity runs as fast as the over one thousand participants including marathon runners, relay runners and volunteers: 1,820,000 euros is the record value of the collection recorded for the 2025 edition on the Rete del Dono platform, partner of the initiative, 25% more than the previous year. Very high figures for one of the most deeply rooted social initiatives in the area (it was founded in 2012), which recorded the record figure of 8.8 million euros in total fundraising. The Wizz Air Milano Marathon will start on April 12th at 8.15 am from Corso Sempione, arriving in the Duomo. The UniCredit Relay Marathon, however, the relay, will start shortly after, at 9.15 am, from Corso Sempione (like the 42 km) but the arrival will be in Via Palestro, next to the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens. It should be remembered that the day before, 11 April, there is the Family Run, the traditional 4 km run-walk open to all (62 thousand participants in the 9 editions, 8 thousand in 2025 alone).
