After the draw in the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar, the groups were determined.
A remarkable match took place after the drawing of lots. Uruguay and Ghana, rivals in Group H, have faced each other for the first time since the dramatic world cup quarter-finals in 2010.
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE MATCH WAS MUCH DISCUSSED!
In the quarter-finals of 2010, when Ghana came very close to the goal, Uruguay’s star Luis Suarez grabbed the ball going into the goal with his hand and caused a penalty. In the 120th minute, Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty kick and Uruguay became partners again. In the match where the tie was not broken, penalty shootouts were held and Uruguay, who won the penalties, was the side that made its mark in the semi-finals.
