The only thing they don’t like is scoring goals. The biggest of the few opportunities was missed in the 27th minute by Paul Will, whose long-range shot was deflected off the post by Marcin Kaminski – Schalke keeper Martin Fraisl would have had no chance.
Very little came from Schalke offensively for a team that desperately wants to get promoted. But then enough to take the lead: Terodde chased the ball away from Tim Knipping in the penalty area, who had been put under pressure by his own keeper Kevin Broll, and got a penalty kick. He turned that into a flattering 1-0 lead himself just before the break.

And the guests also used the next carelessness of the Dresden defense ice cold. After Malick Thiaw won the ball, Dominick Drexler crossed perfectly towards the penalty spot. Nobody paid any attention to Terodde, who headed the ball in unchallenged to make it 2-0 (51st).
But Dresden did not give up. Oliver Batista-Meier tried it from distance in the 65th minute, but shot just over the goal. Will then aimed better: After a corner, four Schalke players stood around the moved up Dresden defender, who nevertheless headed the ball and made it 1-2 (70′).
