During the trial against the singer, he maintained a media silence and even now that Marco has been acquitted, he still does not want to say anything.

Remarkable, says the weekly Party. “Amid all the heart-warming reactions in the media, there is one notable absence and that is Marco’s hit writer John Ewbank.”
John tells the weekly: “Even now I do not want to give any response to this. I have decided to continue the silence.”
Speculations
Is there more going on between Marco and John? “When Party then notes that John is giving room for speculation, he doesn’t really have an answer to this.”
“It remains strange that John remains silent, because for years he and Marco were a unit that flooded the Netherlands with one hit after another…,” the magazine said.

TV critic Victor Vlam calls it ‘very remarkable’ in the Party. “Of course you expect a response from John Ewbank. Marco and he have always been a unit. Together they are responsible for many hits. The fact that John does not want to respond to the acquittal is very remarkable.”
“He could easily have given a standard answer, that for example he is happy that Marco has been acquitted and he can get on with his life. Such a statement is obvious. The fact that he does not give any response indeed leaves a lot of room for speculation. Is there something going on between the two that we don’t know, are they having an argument?”
