In the wake of the credit card scandal involving the French biathlon team, not only the convicted Julia Simon was sharply attacked on social media, but also Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. Simon criticizes this in clear terms.
When the perpetrator-victim question in the credit card affair was still unresolved, not only Julia Simon was attacked and insulted on social media, but also the completely innocent Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. Although the relationship between the two top biathletes was permanently disturbed after the incidents, Simon now jumped to her teammate’s side on this point.
“I know that Justine has suffered a lot on social media, as have I. I find it unbelievable that people are so aggressive and hostile. Nobody should experience something like that,” Simon told the broadcaster “RMC” on Thursday after the sprint race.
Ultimately, it should all be about sport, added the ten-time world champion. “And we’re very good at that. That’s the best answer.” Like every other athlete, she wants to go her own way because: “The French team deserves composure and calm. That’s what we all strive for.”
Biathlon star Simon struggles with his own form
Meanwhile, Simon was satisfied with her performance in the Annecy sprint. The 29-year-old wasn’t quite up to speed due to a cold, but remained calm and error-free at the shooting range.
“I feel like I’m on the right track. My form is still average and far from my normal standards, but I was sick at the start of the week and am still feeling the after-effects. I was able to find my rhythm and power [auf der Strecke] not find. “I didn’t have a consistent pace and I felt like I was at my limit,” she said, summing up her performance, which ultimately brought her 14th place.
