Combiner Nathalie Armbruster caused a shocking moment at the mass start in Ramsau. The Black Forest woman collapsed on the second lap of the 5 km run.
On the first lap, last winter’s World Cup winner was able to keep up with Ida Marie Hagen. But the Norwegian increasingly increased the pace. Armbruster had to have it demolished. Shortly after the timing at kilometer 3.2, drama occurred.
Armbruster causes a moment of shock
The 19-year-old fainted, fell headfirst into the snow and lay there for seconds – none of the surrounding carers came to help her. But Armbruster got back up and was able to finish the race in 13th place, 1:30 minutes behind.
Hagen goes into the jumping as the leader
The fastest was Hagen, who worked out a good starting position for the final jumping. Alexa Brabec (USA) crossed the finish line in second place, 28.9 seconds behind. The Norwegian Marte Leinan Lund came in third, 40.7 seconds behind. Jenny Nowak was the best German in cross-country skiing. She finished seventh, one minute behind.
