Bitter setback for Yussuf Poulsen and him HSV: The Dane, who has just recovered from a torn muscle fiber, will be out for a long time again. Poulsen twisted his ankle during training on Thursday without any opposition and apparently tore a ligament. Coach Merlin Polzin said the 31-year-old would be “out for weeks.” We now have to wait for further investigations.

With Jean-Luc Dompé, HSV is missing another offensive player in the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon. The winger has been suffering from problems with his Achilles tendon for a long time and has therefore already missed the league games against Hoffenheim and Stuttgart as well as the cup game in Heidenheim.

In addition, Fabio Vieira and Guilherme Ramos were recently absent from training due to illness. Their use on Saturday is more than questionable. Warmed Omari, Robert Glatzel and Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit are still in advanced training – this trio will not be ready for action again until next year.

Thorsten Fink is no longer the coach of the Belgian first division club KRC Genk. The former Hamburger SV coach was fired after a year and a half. The separation took place on Monday, one day after the 1-1 draw in the home game against KVC Westerlo.

The club justified the decision with inconsistent results and the team’s fluctuating performance. After 18 matchdays, Genk is sixth in the table, 14 points behind leaders Union St. Gilloise.

The 58-year-old former Bundesliga professional can look back on an eventful coaching career. Before Genk, Fink already worked for the Belgian club KVV St. Truiden. He also gained experience in Austria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Japan, Latvia and Saudi Arabia. Thorsten Fink coached HSV from 2011 to 2013.
