Sad news from England. As sixth division club FC Macclesfield announced on Wednesday afternoon, Ethan McLeod died in a car accident. “It is with the heaviest of hearts and an overwhelming sense of unreality that Macclesfield FC must confirm the death of 21-year-old striker Ethan McLeod,” the club wrote.
McLeod was trained in the youth ranks of Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and played ten games for the U21s. He then moved through England’s lower leagues before moving to Macclesfield in the summer of 2025. “The deep emotional wounds left by Ethan’s death will undoubtedly never heal – but one thing is certain: Ethan’s living legacy will never fade, no matter how much time passes in the future. Ethan will live on forever in our hearts and minds, and no matter what the future holds, his unique smile that enchanted us all will never be forgotten,” the club’s statement said.
