In the new episode of Ylen Gogi’s kantabar radio host and actor Janne Saarinen, 30, talks about his life after a serious sledding accident.

Saarinen and his pair of sleds Tristan Jeskanen had a serious accident in November 2024 in Lillehammer, Norway. The two were practicing their luge, but their Olympic dreams suffered a major setback when they fell during practice.

Saarinen said that after the accident he had internal bleeding, and he did not remember anything.

At the moment, Saarinen is doing well. His memory has returned, he can move and speak. However, there have been changes in life.

Saarinen says that he was always quick to speak and a witty language user. Nowadays, Saarinen has to search for his words for longer and he says that he often forgets what he was about to say.

– I have always been the type who finds the words for every situation. Now I have to think a lot about what I say, because I can’t think of words, he describes.

Saarinen has always loved the feeling that he is so called “on top of things”. It is scary for him that he no longer has that feeling in his everyday life in the same way as before the accident.

– For example, when I do radio. I have never written for myself before. Now I have to because it can happen to me that I suddenly lose track of what I’m talking about or where I am.

– Or that I have a few such absence scenes that it’s really hard for me to comprehend [tilannetta]. The compass has disappeared from my head, Saarinen adds.

With the accident, Saarinen has calmed down his everyday life. He has also spent much more time alone.

– In the past, I did a lot of filming and radio on top of each other. Now I’ve made a clear policy that when I’m on vacation from radio, I shoot and when I’m on vacation from filming, I’m on the radio, Saarinen says in the episode.

– I’m no longer on top of each other, and I’m also working a shortened work week in radio at the moment, he adds.
