Finnish short film Pantyhose has been shortlisted to compete for the 2026 Oscar. Released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences the list of the films that made it to the sequel on Tuesday.
Pantyhose there is Fabian Munsterhjelm directed film. It was voted on the Oscars shortlist out of 207 films. In the category of short films, 15 films made it to the list.
Pantyhose is about what a hole in pantyhose can do to a couple, says the distributor of the film Wildhog Productions on their website. According to the description, the couple is about to go to an important gala when a hole is found in their tights.
Pantyhose was also nominated for the 2024 Jussi award. It will be seen in the main roles Fairy tale Wind Bear and Sampa Batal.
Finland was also nominated for an Oscar 100 liters of sahtiwhich does not appear in the list published by the Academy. 100 liters of sahti was nominated for an award in the international film category.
The 2026 Academy Awards will be held on March 15. The final nominations will be published on January 22.
