Timo Werner has been back in Leipzig since the summer. But he doesn’t have much chance of getting match practice – and could now turn his back on Saxony.
Timo Werner is allowed to leave Rasenballsport Leipzig – and could be in the squad for the last time against Leverkusen on Saturday. Because: A winter change is approaching. After the failed transfer in the summer, Werner himself now wants to leave the club. Goal: the MLS.
According to “Bild”, there is concrete interest from the San José Earthquakes. There have already been initial discussions with the players, but not yet with Leipzig.
The club wouldn’t put any obstacles in Werner’s way. Leipzig would be willing to let the attacker go for a small fee – also in order to save the salary of around five million euros that is outstanding until the summer. Then his contract in Leipzig expires.
As “Bild” reports, Werner was primarily considering a move to Inter Miami. Basically he is open to offers. He has made two short appearances for the Saxons this season and was also able to play briefly against Union Berlin last Friday. However, he was unable to contribute to the goal.
