NPO Radio 2 presented the complete list today. Six of Borsato’s songs have never been this high before. Except She are these The Truth (from 1428 to 35), There is no such thing as saying goodbye (from 1276 to 82), The Destination (from 1202 to 90), I Don’t Live For You Anymore (from 1238 to 93) and How It Dances (from 1261 to 182).
Borsato was charged by the court in Utrecht on December 4 acquitted of indecency with a minor. The court ruled that there was insufficient supporting evidence. His fellow citizens in Alkmaar are happy that they are there now finally clarity is after all these years.
Never before so many Dutch songs in the hit list
Never before have so many songs from the Netherlands appeared in the Top 2000. A total of 397 songs by Dutch artists have ended up in the list. The old record dates from 2023, when 381 tracks from the Netherlands received enough votes to be included in the popular end-of-year list.
The highest newcomer is Light Burning by Suzan & Freek on 33. The duo therefore receives the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 Award.
The song became a hit this year after the news that Freek Rikkerink is terminally ill. Suzan & Freek have fifteen songs in the list, nine more than last year.
