Kenya Koene from Helmond is getting married. The gold medalist of the Special Olympics reports on Instagram that she said ‘yes’ to her fiancé Troy from Veghel last week.
The two met in 2022 during the recording of season 2 of the television program Down The Road. During that program, they traveled through Belgium and France together with tour guide Gordon and six other young people with Down Syndrome.
Overjoyed
“We are overjoyed. I love you most, my fiancé,” Kenya wrote on her Instagram page. In the photo she proudly shows off her engagement ring. Happiness radiates from it.
The Helmondse is a busy bee. This year she won a gold medal at the World Winter Games of the Special Olympics together with her dance partner Tim Spruijt. She is also a model. In 2022 she was the face of World Down Syndrome Day. In addition to Down The Road, she also participated in the NPO comedy series ‘Downtown’.
