First discussions with BVB professional

In the past ten years, Ousmane Dembélé, a player, went from Borussia Dortmund to FC Barcelona. Another could possibly be added next summer. According to information from Sky, the Catalans have taken a look at Julian Ryerson. The right-back is seen by the Spanish champions as an option to broaden the defense and as a cost-effective replacement for Jules Koundé.

Initial discussions have already taken place between those responsible at Barcelona and the management of the flexible player, who can play as both a left and right-back. But other, unnamed clubs are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old Norwegian. Ryerson still has a contract with BVB until 2028, but is apparently not unsaleable. It is said that if he gets a good offer he can leave the black and yellow team. His market value is estimated at 20 million euros before the Bundesliga update on December 19th.
A farewell is also a conceivable possibility for Ryerson, as coach Niko Kovac does not rely 100 percent on him. Every now and then he doesn’t play at all or only makes short appearances. The bottom line is that only seven players have played more minutes this season than the Norwegian. Ryerson came to Dortmund from Union Berlin at the beginning of 2023 for 5 million euros. Since then he has played 121 games (seven goals, eleven assists) – more than for any other club in his career.
