Footage of the match clearly showed the spectator throwing his beer at the linesman. The man was angry after Milan Zonneveld’s 3-2 was disallowed because the striker was a few centimeters offside.
Telstar states that they expressly disapprove of this behavior. The man has been identified and immediately denied access to the stadium. The club also wants the man to receive a national stadium ban. The further handling of the case lies with the KNVB.
‘Beer is for drinking’
“This behavior is disrespectful towards arbitration and players and detracts from the experience of other supporters in the stadium,” Telstar writes on their website. “Beer is there to drink and enjoy, not to throw. Together we ensure a safe and pleasant stadium for everyone.”
