The incident took place on the night of Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 December in the home of one of those involved in Blankenberge. Around midnight, a 36-year-old woman was stabbed in an apartment in Graaf Jansdijk. Emergency services took the victim to hospital in critical condition. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the woman’s life is no longer in danger.
Local police were able to arrest the suspect – a 44-year-old woman. After the interrogation, the woman was brought before the investigating judge. He decided to arrest her on suspicion of attempted murder. A medical examiner and the laboratory must investigate the precise circumstances. “The incident is part of the relational atmosphere,” the public prosecutor’s office reports. On Friday morning, the council chamber in Bruges will decide whether the suspect should remain in prison longer.
