The German handball players quickly shook off the disappointment of losing the World Cup final and threw themselves into the party night in Rotterdam with a mix of feelings of pride and joy over the silver medal.
“We win the third half,” exclaimed Viola Leuchter as her motto for the night. First, national coach Markus Gaugisch’s team wants to eat together in a restaurant, then the dance floor will be opened.
Backcourt player Emily Vogel, who was also elected to the All-Star team, announced: “I think you can expect a similar performance to what we showed in the games. We’re going full throttle today and there’s every reason to be. We deserve that,” said the 27-year-old.
