Three people were seriously injured on Sunday evening in an accident on the Fressevenweg in Bergeijk. Two vehicles collided head-on, after which a third car was also involved.

Two other passengers were also injured in the accident.

One of the drivers became trapped and had to be freed from his vehicle by the fire brigade. A dog also had to be removed from one of the vehicles involved.

Five ambulances, an air ambulance and two fire engines responded to the accident. The injured were taken to various hospitals by ambulance.

The police have launched an investigation to find out what happened. The Fressevenweg runs from the Luikerweg to the village of Bergeijk and will remain closed to traffic for the time being.
