As mentioned, the couple liked to throw a party. This all happened in the Grand Salon, the most important room in the house according to Thijs Boers. “The large groups were received here and parties were also held here. Because this is actually a party house. When the couple came to live here, they completely changed the furnishings.”
When a party was thrown, everything was pushed aside and it was free to go. The costume balls were particularly famous.

“And you can place a very long table here for twenty or thirty people,” Boers adds. For smaller groups there was a special dining room with a 250-piece tableware set made of, for connoisseurs, chic Meissen porcelain. Everything was aimed at making a visit to the Keizersgracht unforgettable.
