Ebba Andersson won. PASI LEISMA

World Champion Ebba Andersson didn’t give others any mercy in the 20 km joint start race of the Scandinavia Cup skied in Östersund, Sweden.

The world champion of the same distance from last spring spent the first three kilometers lagging behind the pace of the others. After that, he skied at his own pace karate faster than the rest of the crowd. At the finish line, he was a whopping 2 minutes and 21 seconds ahead of second-placed Norway Eva Ingebrigtsen. The best of the Finns was Sivakoinu in fourth place Elsa Torvinen.

– He is full of stone face, Expressen’s skiing expert Oskar Danielsson Frost noted Andersson as he arrived at the finish line.

Andersson’s victory was hardly a surprise to anyone, but the winning margin of the 28-year-old ski star clearly showed how hard skiing is at the top level.

Andersson’s speed was so brutal that a large group of racing sisters were flagged out of the race in a lap during the jump.

– It’s an easy job when you have a world champion involved, Danielsson Frost commented.

Andersson chose a significantly lower level of competition for his weekend program, even if the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland would have been available.
