It is a misunderstanding that Jort Kelder himself grew up in a castle: “’Jonkheer Kelder’ would sound a bit strange.” However, he is fascinated by the elite and admires figures such as Prince Bernhard, Freddy Heineken, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. “I have a soft spot for that, especially in this day and age when people are looking more closely at whether people behave decently. They are creeps, but they do change the world.”
Kelder is like a cheerleader of capitalism: “I am almost the only one in the media who stands up for them, because I think they belong in a colorful society.” He likes their pranks, because he also has a riotous side: “Someone has to pull the chestnuts out of the fire, right? Say what everyone thinks, but no one dares to say? Then I must be the bastard who does that.”
