Broadcom was one of the last tech companies from the USA to present its balance sheet on Thursday after the US stock market closed. This is how the numbers turned out.
Apple and Google chip supplier Broadcom significantly increased sales and profits in the fourth quarter and exceeded analysts’ expectations. For Broadcom, the fourth fiscal quarter of 2025 ended with a strong jump in profits. Earnings per share climbed from $0.900 to $1.74. The company therefore earned less than the market had expected – analyst estimates had previously amounted to EPS of $1.87. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) rose 34 percent to $12.2 billion. The bottom line is that Broadcom earned $8.5 billion, after $4.3 billion a year earlier.
For the full year, earnings per share were $4.77 (previous year: $1.23), which was lower than expected (US$6.75).
Sales also increased from 14.05 billion US dollars to 18.02 billion US dollars: the market expectations had previously been 17.47 billion US dollars. As Broadcom announced on Thursday in San Jose, this is a record number. Revenues also developed significantly positively for the year as a whole, climbing from $51.57 billion to $63.89 billion, slightly above analyst expectations of $63.34 billion.
The company is expecting more significant growth in the first quarter than market experts had previously assumed. Broadcom benefits from solutions related to artificial intelligence (AI). In the first quarter, revenue is expected to increase by 28 percent year-on-year to $19.1 billion, which is stronger than analysts expected. In the eyes of many investors, like NVIDIA, the company is one of the big beneficiaries of the expansion of AI data centers.
Broadcom shares were ultimately down 4.47 percent at $388.20 after trading on the NASDAQ after they had previously reacted positively to the numbers.
