(toskanews) – Effect of climate change. A thick fog envelops the city of al-Qasim and its countryside, in the central Iraqi province of Babil. Baghdad International Airport and other airports in Iraq have been temporarily closed due to severe weather conditions in a country increasingly affected by climate change. According to the UN, “since 1800, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas.”
