The Polish construction worker lived in Avelgem, but he had already been missing for a week when his body was found in a garden in Sint-Baafs-Vijve. His body was wrapped in a sleeping bag and a wooden box. Shortly before, his identity card had already been found in the Rijksweg.
Shortly afterwards, the couple living in that apartment were arrested, they are Polish in their forties. Later, a third Polish suspect was also arrested.
