Germany is still in the running at the Women’s Handball World Cup and has won all games so far. But a cracker awaits in the semi-finals.

The German handball players have achieved something historic at the World Cup – and are now facing the defending champions. After reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup, a special challenge awaits the DHB selection: their opponent on Friday is France, the current title holder. The French beat Denmark 31:26 (17:12) in the quarter-finals in Rotterdam.

The duel for a place in the final is a new edition of the Olympic quarter-finals in Tokyo. At that time, the German team lost to France 23:26. Two test matches in March were also narrowly lost.

Nevertheless, there is great hope for the first World Cup medal since 2007. The semi-final starts at 5.45 p.m. (in the live ticker on t-online). Norway and the Netherlands face each other in the second game.
