Dortmund top performers are threatened with a break
Substituted injured: concern for BVB star

In the Champions League preliminary round game against Bodö/Glimt there was an unfortunate scene for a BVB regular player. Coach Niko Kovač has to act.
Is Borussia Dortmund at risk of a long-term absence of a top performer? In the Champions League game against Bodö/Glimt on Wednesday evening, after just under half an hour, a star of the black and yellow team involuntarily took center stage: defender Waldemar Anton. Things couldn’t go any further for him.
The 29th minute in Signal-Iduna-Park: Anton grabs his right thigh, apparently having done something to himself without the opponent’s influence. Anton tries to keep running, but then falls to the ground and sits on the grass.
After a short break in treatment, it is clear: the defender can’t go any further. Dortmund continues to play outnumbered for a short time, then coach Niko Kovač instructs Yan Couto to play the ball out of bounds so that substitutions can be made. Daniel Svensson comes into the game for Anton.
Did the unexpected failure shock BVB? Just a few minutes later, the “black and yellow” conceded the completely surprising 1-1 equalizer from the Norwegians when Haitam Aleesami was able to head in unchallenged from four meters.
It is still unclear whether and for how long Anton will be out. The 29-year-old is an integral part of Kovač’s formation; has played in all 13 games of the season in the Bundesliga so far and has always been in the starting line-up in the premier class.
