“More and more people know about the promotion in December,” says a bus driver who drives one of the scheduled buses. “Then I say: you don’t have to check in, just sit down.”
The initiative came about three years ago when the two ring buses were just passing through the city. The campaign was started to get the residents of Purmerend used to their new means of transport.
Excited about the action
Passengers respond enthusiastically to the promotion. “I heard it through the grapevine,” says a man who has just gotten off bus 102. “We are telling everyone in our area that you can travel for free this month.”
Some residents in the Beemster think it is a shame that the action only concerns the two scheduled buses in the center, says Mobility Councilor Coen Lageveen. “We have to see if we can do something about that.”
The promotion runs until January 1, after which you must check in again on scheduled buses.
