When looking for a new sports director, VfL Wolfsburg has apparently found what they are looking for at Eintracht Frankfurt. As “Kicker” and “WAZ” report, Pirmin Schwegler is to succeed Sebastian Schindzielorz, who was dismissed in November. Accordingly, the two Bundesliga clubs have agreed on a move for the 38-year-old.

Schwegler has been working as director of professional football for Hessen since the beginning of the year, after previously working at TSG Hoffenheim and FC Bayern. According to “Sky”, Wolfsburg will pay a transfer fee of 500,000 euros to the Hessians and the change should take place shortly. The Wolves had previously tried unsuccessfully to sign Andreas Schicker from TSG Hoffenheim and Marcus Mann from Hannover 96.

Sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz also had to leave on November 13th, a few days after coach Paul Simonis was fired. Since then, the VW club has been looking for a successor for the ex-professional. At the weekend, Lower Saxony won 3-1 against Union Berlin and are in 15th place in the Bundesliga table with just twelve points after 13 match days.
