The group of seven young people arrested in Boxtel on Monday morning are largely responsible for the unrest in recent months. The police announced this on Monday evening.
The seven young people aged 15 to 18 are suspected of having committed various criminal offenses between May and December.
From abuse to violence
According to the police, this is a group that has been in the picture for some time. They are suspected of, among other things, abuse, fraud, vandalism, public violence and of being partly responsible for a large part of the unrest, such as that at the Liempde fair‘.
Due to the persistent nuisance, a ban on gatherings has been in force in the municipality since June.
Extensive research
The unrest continued, requiring extensive investigation. “With the arrests we made on Monday, we can interrogate the suspects for all facts at the same time,” the police said.
This prevents explanations from being clouded and the young people from being able to communicate with each other.
Multiple declarations
Victims have reported all cases. No weapons were found during the arrests, but objects were currently being investigated.
Some of the young people are still in custody on Monday evening. It will be assessed on Tuesday whether they remain in custody.
