38 of the 46 people for whom detention orders were issued within the scope of the ‘Betting’ and ‘Fixing’ investigation in football carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office were detained. Among the names taken into custody are football commentator Ahmet Çakar, football players Mert Hakan Yandaş, Metehan Baltacı, Ankaraspor club owner Ahmet Okatan, club president Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu, Nazilli Belediyespor President Şahin Kaya, Former Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak, TFF senior class referee Zorbay Küçük, Antalyaspor manager Emrah Çelik, Serikspor football player Erhan Çelenk and Alanyaspor football player Yusuf Özdemir. It was determined that 5 suspects were abroad within the scope of the investigation.
SUSPECTS WERE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE
After completing their procedures at the police station, the 37 suspects taken into custody were subjected to a health check and transferred to the Istanbul Palace of Justice in Çağlayan.
19 PROSECUTORS WERE ASSIGNED
The statements of 39 suspects taken into custody at the prosecutor’s office continue. The statements of the suspects are taken by 19 prosecutors. The suspects will be referred to the Criminal Court of Peace after their statements.
ARREST REQUEST FOR 29 SUSPECTS
Among the suspects who were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, 29 people, including Metehan Baltacı, Murat Sancak, Alassane Ndao, Mert Hakan Yandaş, Ahmet Okatan, Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu and Ümit Kaya, were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty with a request for arrest. On the other hand, Zorbay Küçük, Abdulsamet Burak, Cengiz Demir, Erhan Çelenk, İsmail Kalburcu, Salih Malkoçoğlu, Samet Karabatak, Tolga Kalender, Uğur Kaan Yıldız, Gamze Neli Kaya were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty with the request that they be taken under judicial control.
