The Stuttgart retailer E. Breuninger GmbH & Co. introduced the new person responsible for its real estate division on Monday. Hendrik Pannenborg will take over the position of Chief Real Estate Officer on January 1 next year, the company said. He succeeds Michael Cesarz, who will be retiring.

Pannenborg has been working for Breuninger for more than 13 years. Most recently, the 47-year-old “as Director Real Estate was already responsible for central issues and projects in the area of Breuninger real estate development,” according to a statement. In his future role, he will be “responsible for the entire area, including the operation and further development of all Breuninger locations including the Breuningerländer, the Breuninger houses and the Dorotheen Quartier”.

According to the company, his new area of responsibility also includes “the planning and implementation of major projects such as the construction of the new mobility hub on the construction site of the former Breuninger parking garage in Stuttgart.”

With Pannenborg’s now announced promotion, the retailer is “focusing on continuity and thus consistently continuing the extremely successful development in the real estate sector,” the company explained.

“With Hendrik Pannenborg, a proven expert in the field of real estate is taking on this exciting task,” emphasized CEO Holger Blecker in a statement. “He is very familiar with the company, the people and projects and is networked in the industry. I am convinced that under his leadership the Breuninger Real Estate team will further expand its existing strengths and specifically initiate new growth.”
