The football club 1. FC Saarbrücken will wear Uhlsport jerseys from next summer. Both parties have agreed on “a long-term partnership” that begins with the 2026/27 season, Uhlsport GmbH said on Friday. The sporting goods supplier based in Balingen, Swabia, is replacing Adidas as the traditional club’s supplier.
As part of the collaboration, Uhlsport will in future be “responsible for the complete equipment of all 1. FC Saarbrücken teams – from the professional team to the youngsters,” according to a statement. In addition, the cooperation includes “a broad service package relating to merchandising, fan articles and the club’s brand presence”.
Melanie Steinhilber, who is part of the Uhlsport management board as CMO, explained the agreement. “With the partnership between Uhlsport and 1. FC Saarbrücken, we are setting a consistent milestone in our long-term supplier strategy in professional football,” she explained in a statement. “Our aim is to specifically expand Uhlsport’s brand strength in selected regions through strategically relevant partnerships. From the very beginning, the discussions with the club were characterized by great closeness, trust and genuine openness. For us, this collaboration is a strong signal of mutual commitment – and a clear commitment to the further development of professionals, young talent and the 1. FC Saarbrücken brand.”
According to Uhlsport, the agreement resulted from an “extensive selection and negotiation process.” The new partnership now makes “a significant contribution to the long-term strategic direction of the club – both economically and sportingly.”
