Start-to-finish victory for Alice Robinson at the giant slalom premiere in Tremblant, Canada. The Germans had nothing to do with the podium. At least two make it to the final. And Emma Aicher was still happy.
Giant slalom specialist Alice Robinson celebrated her sixth World Cup victory in Tremblant, Canada. After two runs, the New Zealander prevailed against Croatian Zrinka Ljutic on Saturday (December 6th, 2025). Robinson, who had already led at the start after the first run in difficult visibility conditions, even extended her lead in the final and won with a lead of 0.94 seconds.
Canadian third – Shiffrin falls back
Canadian Valerie Grenier came third in the home World Cup and the premiere in Tremblant, moving up from fifth place to the podium (+ 1.00 seconds).
Alpine superstar Mikaela Shiffrin had to settle for sixth place. The American still had an eye on the podium as third in the first round, but didn’t do so well in the second round and fell back (+ 1.65 seconds).
Aicher achieves a new best performance – Dürr beaten
The German starters had nothing to do with the fight for the podium places. All-rounder Emma Aicher and slalom specialist Lena Dürr had to check off the top places after the first round and places 14 and 19.
Aicher, whose best giant slalom result so far was a 15th place in January 2024 in Kranjska Gora, ultimately set a new record. After a good start to the second run, she lost speed in the flat middle section due to a drift and initially lost three places. Because some competitors also lost time, the 22-year-old even improved and ultimately came twelfth (+ 2.28 seconds). The athlete from SC Mahlstetten has never been so good in the giant slalom.
Dürr, who celebrated a strong sixth giant slalom place in Copper Mountain last week, made too many mistakes in both runs this time. In the second round she lost two places again and ultimately came 21st (+ 3.01 seconds).
Fabiana Dorio was eliminated in the first round. The 27-year-old from Munich retired with starting number 34 after a driving error.
