Two cars collided last night on the Ingenieur WIC van Veelenweg (N378) between Gasselternijveenschemond and Stadskanaal. The police, ambulance, the Mobile Medical Team and the fire brigade urgently responded to the serious accident.
It is still unknown how the two passenger cars collided. Both cars ended up in the ditch, with one car coming to rest on top of the other. An elderly man and woman in the top vehicle were rescued by the fire brigade, while the driver of the bottom vehicle got out independently.
All three people were checked in the three ambulances present, after which the two from the top car were taken to the hospital.
