In Jethro Rostedt’s opinion, the district court’s sentence was already harsh for him.
In September, Jethro Rostedt was sentenced to suspended imprisonment and community service for tax fraud. Henri Kärkkäinen
Helsingin Sanomat told today that the prosecutor is applying for entrepreneur Jethro Rostedt, instead of a suspended sentence, for tax fraud.
In September, Rostedt was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of one year and eight months for tax fraud. In addition to this, Rostedt was sentenced to 90 hours of community service.
Rostedt filed a counter-appeal, in which he demands that his sentence be reduced to one year and four months of conditional imprisonment without community service.
The entrepreneur commented on the matter via text message to Iltalehti and told, among other things, the reason why he filed a counter-complaint.
– When the prosecutor filed a complaint, I had to do it. Silly, but that’s how it goes, he says and continues:
– The prosecutor suggested not going to the court hearing at all, but I replied that of course we would.
The district court of Varsinais-Suomen told Iltalehte already in September that the prosecutor has expressed his dissatisfaction with the verdict. Rosedt disagrees.
– I think the verdict was already really harsh in the courts, he states.
Rostedt’s sentence was for three aggravated and one basic form of tax fraud. He avoided an absolute prison sentence in the district court by confessing to the crimes, and the trial was changed to a confession trial.
