Roberto Piazza’s boys return to victory on the Piedmontese pitch after the home defeat against Trento
CUNEO – MILAN 1-3 (16-25, 15-25, 25-22, 17-25)
—
Another complicated evening for Ma Acqua S. Bernardo Cuneo who, in their stadium, lost to Allianz Milano in the match valid as the postponement of the ninth day of the Super League. The guests, coached by Roberto Piazza – the last coach of Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo before the end of that story and their farewell to the top flight, now eleven years ago -, immediately proved to be more concrete and in the first two sets they pushed the accelerator. The Cuneo team appear blocked in attack, inconsistent in blocking, and continue to suffer the blows of the guests, especially Reggers who will finish with 21 points, the best scorer of the match. In the third set something changes, Codarin and Feral (the newcomer Cattaneo also did well) give rhythm to the team that now fights and it is precisely the turn of the Frenchman from Cuneo (who scores the first and only ace of Ma Acqua S. Bernardo) to allow the hosts to reopen the match. The fourth set is then played in a more balanced way even if Milan is once again in the lead, spreading at the end: Zaytsev tries to shake up his team by also canceling the first match ball (17-24) but Milan’s celebration is only postponed for a few minutes. Piazza’s team thus returns to victory, while Cuneo licks its wounds.
Wedge: Feral 16 points, team blocks 5 (Codarin 2, Zaytsev 2), team aces 1
Milan: Reggers 21 points, team blocks 13 (Reggers 5), team aces 2.
