This Wednesday, in the Lower House of the National Congress, the elected deputies swore an oath to access their respective seats. The legislative formality was attended by the president Javier Milei and the general secretary of the PresidencyKarina Milei, who were watching the ceremony from the main box of the venue, along with the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni.
The 127 legislators who will take office starting December 10 carried out the protocol act, with certain unusual moments. The session was chaired by Gerardo Cipollini, the octogenarian radical legislator from the province of Chaco, who starred in an embarrassing sequence when referring to the bodies of three elected representatives without realizing that his microphone was on.
The moment of oath of the social leader Juan Grabois It also had its special seasoning. After taking the oath, the Kirchnerist leader turned around and, pointing at the presidential box, raised his hand making the 3 percent gesture and then, with the same hand, finished with the Peronist “V” sign. An explicit mockery of Karina Milei and the alleged request for bribes that link her, after the dissemination of the recordings of Diego Spagnuoloformer head of ANDIS.
It was not the only moment in which the leader of Patria Grande and the Milei crossed paths in that meeting. A while before, the Peronist deputy Aldo Leiva shouted, looking at Javier Milei: “The Homeland is not for sale.” Then, almost immediately, Juan Grabois harangued those present to sing a song with that phrase, which provoked the reaction of Milei himself and the libertarian bloc, who began to sing “President, president” and “The caste is afraid.”
The replacement included officials from the Executive Branch who until now held key roles and who, after their election, will leave those positions to join the national parliament. Among them is Luis Petri, former Minister of Defense, who took over the province of Mendoza for LLA. Also notable are Sebastián Pareja, elected in the province of Buenos Aires; Gladys Humenuk, linked to Correo Argentino, and Hernán Urien, former general director of Government Programs, both incorporated by the ruling party.
Of course, not all officials elected in the last election will take office. Osvaldo Jaldo, governor of Tucumán, and Fabián Martín, vice-governor of San Juan, gave their places to their deputies, while former governors Oscar Herrera Ahuad (Misiones) and Juan Schiaretti (Córdoba) do join the legislative work.
On the other hand, the renewal also added well-known figures outside the political network. Virginia Gallardo, model and host elected by Corrientes, as well as former tennis player Diego Hartfield, elected by the province of Misiones, will occupy seats for La Libertad Avanza. Karen Reichardt, former vedette and television host elected by Buenos Aires, and Sergio Figliuolo, known as “Throne”, host of the Neura streaming channel, also join.

After the reappointment of Martín Menem as head of the Lower House, it was learned how the other positions will be. The first vice presidency will be for the Fuerza Patria deputy, Cecilia Moreau. The second presidency will be in the hands of La Libertad Avanza and the former Minister of Security, Luis Petri, was voted. While the third vice presidency will be resolved in the next session, between the United Provinces and the PRO interblock.
Finally, the final formation in Deputies left the libertarians as the first minority after the incorporation of Francisco Morchio from Entre Ríos, since it consolidated 95 seats, surpassing Fuerza Patria, which added 94. The United Provinces space was made up of 22 deputies, while traditional parties such as the PRO and the Unión Cívica Radical redefined their presence based on the results and the resulting alliances.
