Several budgerigars were stolen from the cage of Dierenweide Vossenberg in Kaatsheuvel during the night of Wednesday to Thursday. The damage to the cage is extensive and the volunteers are very frightened. “It saddens us,” they write on Facebook.
The cage appeared to have been forced and damaged in several places on Thursday morning. The rest of the site has remained intact, so according to the Zoo, the perpetrators were after the parakeets. It is not clear exactly how many parakeets are involved.
It was a big shock for the volunteers. “This hurts us terribly,” they write on Facebook. They ask people who have seen something to come forward.
