Corinne Suter falls during training in St. Moritz. This has serious consequences. But the Winter Olympics are probably not in danger for them.

The next bitter news for the Swiss ski team: After Lara Gut-Behrami was out, Corinne Suter has now also been affected. The Olympic downhill champion fell during training in St. Moritz on Wednesday and will now be out for a longer period.

As the association announced, the 31-year-old suffered several injuries in her fall: a torn muscle fiber in her left lower leg, a bruise on her left knee joint and a non-displaced fracture in the area of her right hindfoot.

But an operation is not necessary. However, Suter will have to avoid skiing for “probably around a month”. Her start at the Olympic Games in February is again not in danger.

The situation is different for teammate Gut-Behrami: She was so seriously injured in a training fall in North America in November that her season ended prematurely.

The first women’s World Cup downhill in St. Moritz is scheduled for December 12th. Another race follows just one day later in the Swiss ski resort.
