Tjorven Delabie (38) his ‘star tracker’ keeps satellites on track: “Luckily none have broken down yet, because you can’t send a van for repairs”

From videos on your smartphone to the GPS in your car: much of what we do every day depends on satellites performing a permanent dance around the Earth. How do they do that? A matchbox from Leuven with an ingenious camera and the stars as a reference determines how satellites rotate and turn. The result of a doctorate that engineer Tjorven Delabie (38) worked on for no less than five years, but now he is CEO of a fast-growing space company.
