Kortrijk now has a completely new walking network. The Leie Valley now has 268 kilometers of signposted paths and runs through Kortrijk and the neighboring municipalities of Harelbeke, Kuurne, Menen, Wevelgem and Zwevegem. According to Westtoer, the network responds to the growing demand for accessible recreation.

“Walking is even more accessible than cycling,” said Tourism Commissioner Jurgen Vanlerberghe earlier. “Here you can travel in a high-quality and safe way, along quiet roads and beautiful landscapes.”
