KAJ performed at the Children’s Independence Day celebration hosted by Prime Minister Orpo in Helsinki.
The Finnish-Swedish group KAJ, which went wild at Eurovision, performed at the Finnish Children’s Independence Day celebration on Wednesday at the Helsinki Opera House. The guests had not been told in advance about the surprise performer of the national celebration.
KAJ performed three songs at the event: his five hits Bara Bada bastunpublished in the summer Mosquito and his new song Karaoke.
Especially Bara Bada bastu got the children’s audience excited.

Two children born in 2015 from each Finnish municipality were invited to the party. 552 guests of honor from 308 different municipalities had registered for the party. Each guest had been asked to bring a work of art they had made related to the theme of the party.
The invitations were sent by the prime minister Petteri Orpo and the municipalities themselves chose the children participating in the party and paid for their travel. The orphan shook hands with each child who came to the party one by one.

The event was opened by Prime Minister Orpo, Secretary General of the Mannerheim Child Welfare Association Milla Kalliomaa and the Children’s Ombudsman Elina Pekkarinen. The Chancellery of the Government organized the party in cooperation with the Mannerheim Children’s Protection Association and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner.
At the party, the children were offered melon-cucumber salad, crispy chicken tenderloin, barbecue-spiced potato wedges, mini burgers with BBQ and split pea fillings, sweet chili mayonnaise and ketchup, loose candy buffet and raspberry cake sandwiches.
The event was broadcast live In the arena. The event was organized now for the seventh time. The party was organized for the first time in 2017.
