In recent years, Eintracht Frankfurt has sold some of its stars for large sums of money. The next professional could soon follow.
Eintracht Frankfurt is once again in for a windfall. Winger Jean-Mattéo Bahoya is apparently the focus of Arsenal FC. According to pay TV broadcaster Sky, the Londoners’ interest in a summer transfer is concrete.
It is said that the Hessians have already been officially informed. The 20-year-old Bahoya only moved from SCO Angers to Frankfurt in January 2024. He still has a long-term contract with the SGE until 2029. A change is also likely to be expensive: According to the report, sports director Markus Krösche is demanding up to 70 million euros for the French U21 national player.
If Arsenal are actually willing to invest this amount in Bahoya, he would join the club’s many top departures in recent years. Last summer, Eintracht sold striker Hugo Ekitiké to Liverpool FC for 95 million euros. Omar Marmoush moved from the Main metropolis to Manchester City in January. The “Cityzens” transferred 75 million euros to Frankfurt.
Randal Kolo Muani left the club for Paris in 2023. Here too, 95 million euros flowed to the Bundesliga club. The departures of Luka Jović (to Real Madrid for 63 million euros) and Sébastien Haller (to West Ham United for 50 million euros) also brought a considerable sum into the Frankfurt club coffers in the summer of 2019.
Bahoya’s market value is currently estimated at 25 million euros by the portal “transfermarkt.de”. This season, the offensive player scored three goals in 18 competitive games for Frankfurt and added another goal.
