Venus Williams is privately overjoyed – she had a beautiful moment in January. The tennis star has now announced details about the engagement.
At the end of the year, tennis star Venus Williams makes her fans happy with a post on Instagram: The 14-time Grand Slam winner shared details about her engagement to actor and director Andrea Preti in a series of photos.
In the first snapshot, the couple can be seen surrounded by tropical plants. The tennis icon hugs her partner closely. The couple stands very close to each other, tenderly holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes. An engagement ring glitters on Williams’ hand.
Alongside the photos, Williams simply wrote: “Engaged.” She also announced the date of the engagement: January 31, 2025. Back in July, she said at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington: “Yes, my fiancé is here.”
Williams thus confirmed speculation from February. She was spotted with Preti in Rome at the beginning of this year. At that time she was said to have already been wearing the ring, which is why fans had already suspected such an event – Williams made her happiness public on the court in July and now with photos and the date on Instagram.
And: The couple is said to be already married. As several media outlets consistently reported, the wedding took place on the island of Ischia in September.
