HJK’s downfall started practically from the moment when Miika Takkula was not succeeded in being replaced. Now Ilves is facing the same challenge, writes Anssi Karjalainen. The Tampere Ilve in the medal pipeline is tested. There has been so-called positive buzz around Tammela’s tassel ears in recent years. The new stadium was completed and immediately started bringing in a nice cash flow. In the 2024 season, Ilves won silver in the Veikkausliiga, and bronze in the season that ended. Ilves has been a really attractive environment for even die-hard gamers. For that, the people of Tampere can especially thank sports director Miika Takkula and ex-head coach Joonas Ranta.
