The emergency services were called to Kasteelstraat in De Panne shortly before noon on Tuesday. The body of a 43-year-old Frenchman was found in the entrance hall of the building where he lived. All help came too late for the victim.
The victim’s body was located at the bottom of the stairs, but it is still unclear exactly how he died. According to the initial findings, there were no traces of violence. The public prosecutor’s office decided to send a medical examiner and the laboratory to the scene to investigate the precise circumstances. “The investigation into the unclear death is ongoing,” spokeswoman Griet De Perst confirms.
