The 1. FC Cologne can rely on Ragnar Ache again in the home game against FC St. Pauli. The center forward was recently sidelined due to a minor concussion. The 27-year-old was able to train with the team again on Tuesday.
The billy goats’ personnel worries are easing somewhat. However, the situation in defense remains tense. In addition to the long-term absences of Luca Kilian and Timo Hübers, Joel Schmied and Dominique Heintz will probably be missing for several more weeks.
Curious honor for Said El Mala from January 1st FC Cologne: Toy figure manufacturer Playmobil is releasing special figures of Bundesliga stars in cooperation with the DFL. Under the motto “Your world. Your stadium.” A collection of toy figures is created for football fans and collectors. This first edition includes six fan favorites from selected traditional clubs: Harry Kane, Mario Götze, Angelo Stiller, Julian Brandt, Luka Vuskovic and Said El Mala.
The first edition is a foretaste of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. Then, for the first time, Playmobil will present all 18 Bundesliga clubs in the form of figures, as the company announced on Monday. A total of 198 officially licensed characters – eleven per team – will be available from September 2026. The figures reflect the players as accurately as possible. 1. FC Köln confirmed Dominique Heintz’s injury from the away game at Werder Bremen on Sunday. The central defender went down without any interference from the opponent and was substituted in the 12th minute. As the Billy Goats explained, an MRI scan revealed a “small muscle fiber tear in the adductor area.”
FC left it open how long Heintz will be out. But according to Joel Schmied, the 32-year-old is also threatened with being out by Christmas. Luca Kilian and Timo Hübers will probably be missing for the rest of the season. FC currently only has two trained central defenders (Rav van den Berg and Cenk Özkacar) available.

1. FC Köln has to accept the next personnel setback. Dominique Heintz had to be substituted injured in the away game at Werder Bremen on Saturday. The central defender suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh in the opening quarter of an hour without any opposition.
