Ricardo Darín, Gastón Pauls and Leticia Brédice met again twenty-five years after the premiere of Nueve Reinas, within the framework of the presentation of Nueve Auras, the documentary that revisits the creative process, the cultural impact and the legacy of its director, Fabián Bielinsky. The gesture of a warm and spontaneous hug between the three actors when they come together in front of the camera synthesizes the emotional moment of the meeting: a meeting that is physical, generational and symbolic at the same time.

The documentary is available on the HBO Max platform and aims to reconstruct not only the kitchen from the filming of Nine Queens, but also the way in which Bielinsky transformed narrative precision into his hallmark of style. The first part of Nine Auras is dedicated entirely to his figure: it includes unpublished materials, testimonies from colleagues who worked with him, evocations of his work ethic and, of course, the inevitable review of his death in 2006, which elevated him to the status of cult director.

The protagonists also return to the original locations, such as the Hilton Hotel in Puerto Madero, the scene of one of the most memorable scams in the film. There, Darín, Pauls and Brédice remember the frenetic times of filming, the minute details of the script, the shared feeling of participating in something that, although they did not know it yet, would become a phenomenon. Pauls highlights the initial distrust that surrounded the project and the absolute faith Bielinsky had in its story. Darín revives a Buenos Aires that no longer exists and Brédice provides behind the scenes of some of its most iconic scenes.

25 years after its release, Nine Queens continues to occupy a central place in the collective memory of Argentine cinema. The embrace between Darín, Pauls and Brédice, now recovered in this documentary, operates as a symbol of that creative impulse—difficult to repeat—and of a film that became, almost without intending to, an inescapable classic of national cinema.
